'Gull Harbour' in Bodega Bay
'Gull Harbour' is a 4-bed/3-bath (sleeps 8-10) 2300 sq.ft. private home on Gull Drive in the Bodega Harbor subdivision of Bodega Bay. It backs up to the 9th Fairway of the Bodega Harbor Golf course and has gorgeous views of Bodega Head, Doran Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The house is well-laid out with vaulted ceilings in all rooms, beautiful wood molding, skylights and tall picture windows. Beach access trail right across the street. 9th Tee box located at back of the home.
Layout of House: There are 2 levels to the home. The only room on the lower level is the garage with Ping-Pong/TV (used as rumpus room) and the entry. There is also a second entry off the kitchen adjacent to the front walkway avoiding main stairs. All area's of living are located on the second level. Spacious bedrooms are located to the rear of the home while the kitchen/dining/living room areas are located in the front of the home. There is a gate in the home to block off the entry stairs if needed for families.
Bedrooms/Baths: Lrg. Master Bedroom #1 sits in the rear of the home facing Doran Beach with vaulted ceilings and large picture windows with wonderful white water views of Doran Beach/Bodega Bay and the 9th fairway. This a large room with a King size bed, TV/Cable/DVD and a separate trundle bed (2-twins perfect for kids). There is also a separate shower with double vanity/toilet closet in this room.
Leaving Mstr Bdrm #1 you pass two closets with extra linens/games with entry to Guest Bedroom #3 on left. This room has a Queen bed with cable-TV and vaulted ceilings. There is a sliding glass door to an adjacent deck with views of Doran Beach/Bodega Bay and the 9th Fairway.
Adjacent to this bedroom is a full-Guest Bath with separate Laundry area.
Guest Bedroom #4 is also adjacent to this bathroom. This room contains a Queen Bed with cable-TV and vaulted ceilings. There is a sliding glass door leading to a deck that looks out over golf course views.
Across from this room is Master Bedroom#2. This large room contains a King bed with cable-TV, vaulted ceilings/skylight and separate bathroom with shower. Its connected to the deck that faces the front of the home where hot tub sits. Wonderful ocean views.
The Dining Rm/Kitchen/living room is further down hallway up two steps. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all new appliances. The large Dining Table sits adjacent and seats 10 guests. We keep the pantry stocked with various seasonings, teas, coffee, foil, saran wrap...etc. Off the kitchen is a separate walkway entrance into the home off the street for guests who wish to avoid the lower level stairs. There is a propane barbecue off this deck.
The Living Room has wonderful views out 4 very large picture windows that face the Pacific Ocean. Lrg. Flat Screen cable-TV/Blu ray/DVD, stero-cd player w/IPOD dock, bookcase with a lrg. assortment of books & magazines, and a lrg. assortment of DVD's & Leather couches in this room make it a wonderfully relaxing area to spend with family/friends.
Golfers: For guests who golf...home backs up to the 9th Tee box. Golf 9 and then stop for a beverage/lunch break...check in with the family and then play the back 9.
Families: For guests with kids we have located in closets: hi-chair, gate, exercauser, jogging stroller (garage). Closet full of games. Coming: Do you GeoCache? We love it...check out our addition of Geocaches in the area ...ask us for details! If you go to Doran for the day (families pack a lot of stuff!...we provide a beach access pass to avoid gate fee). Doran Beach State Park is an awesome place to play in the ocean/sand and they have bathrooms. Take our boogie boards, sand toys, snacks and enjoy the day!
Beach items: Beach blankets, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, ice chests, sand toys located in garage. We even keep a beach pass for families wanting to drive to the State Beach at Doran entrance with all their 'stuff' saving you the $6 parking fee.
What do we/guests love most about the home? The house has a very open uncluttered feel with all the sunlight from skylights/windows and vaulted ceilings. Love being able to walk out the front door to the beach trail across the street. Ping-Pong in the finished garage and lots of games/activities. Extra pillows/blankets in all rooms. Free long-distance calling to USA/Canada as well. A home away from home without all the 3C's: chores, clutter & chaos.
